Gulf region commerce topper and UniHawk mentee heads to London School of Economics
Manama, July 3, 2025: The CBSE topper from Bahrain has secured a place at the London School of Economics (LSE) this Fall. Dhruvi Karia was mentored by university admissions experts, UniHawk. She topped the country’s results with 99.2%, and was also the topper in commerce across the entire Gulf region. Karia will now pursue a degree in Financial Mathematics and Statistics at the London university.
A graduate of New Millenium School Bahrain, Karia believes that practice and consistency have been the key to her academic success. She explains, “Right from day one, I stayed up to date with my studies. This made revision much easier as the exams approached. I also focused on solving multiple practice papers, which helped me strengthen my understanding of concepts and improve my time management.” About her results, Karia says, “I was overwhelmed and truly grateful. Seeing my efforts pay off was such a fulfilling moment. All the consistency, late nights, and practice finally felt worth it. It was a mix of relief, happiness and pride in the journey I had taken to get there.”
Mentored by UniHawk throughout her university application journey, Karia says that the support played a pivotal role in securing her entry to LSE. She explains, “From helping me shortlist the right universities to refining my personal statement and preparing for interviews, the guidance was invaluable. Their mentorship gave me the clarity and confidence I needed at every step. Without that support, it would have been difficult to navigate through the entire application process. UniHawk’s guidance made everything more structured and less overwhelming.”
Speaking about her next step, Karia says, “LSE has been my dream university for as long as I can remember. It’s so well reputed, especially in the areas I’m passionate about, like economics and finance. It felt like the kind of place that would truly challenge me and help me grow. I’m most excited about learning from world-class professors and being part of a diverse and intellectually stimulating community. I’m also looking forward to exploring new ideas, participating in student societies and experiencing life in one of the most vibrant cities in the world. I love how diverse and international the student community is, and being in London means there are so many opportunities right at your doorstep. It just felt like the perfect place for the next chapter of my journey.”
Looking to her future beyond university, Karia says, “I’ve always been fascinated by numbers and patterns, and combining this with statistics will allow me to apply analytical thinking to real-world financial and policy challenges. It’s the perfect intersection of logic and impact. My long-term goal is to work in investment banking, where I can use data-driven insights to guide major financial decisions. Eventually, I hope to contribute to economic development initiatives that create lasting impact, especially in emerging markets.”
Part of the team mentoring Karia throughout the process was Senior Education Consultant Ramiz Shaikh who says, “Dhruvi is an exemplary student and thoroughly deserves the outstanding results she has achieved to earn a place at her dream university. She is well prepared for the next step in her academic journey at LSE.”
