Bahrain schools shut on May 15 and 16 for Arab Summit

For public schools the final exams for secondary education scheduled for May 15th and 16th will be rescheduled 

Manama, May 12, 2024: The Ministry of Education in Bahrain has announced that schools, universities and educational institutions across the Kingdom will remain closed on May 15 and 16 in the light of the upcoming Arab Summit in Bahrain.  

For public schools the final exams for secondary education scheduled for May 15th and 16th will be rescheduled. A revised timetable will be issued by the Ministry shortly. Secondary and preparatory students will recommence their exams, while regular classes for other levels will resume on May 19 (Sunday). 

Nurseries and kindergartens will continue to be closed on May 15th and 16th while private schools are permitted to rearrange classes or examinations scheduled for May 15th and 16th at their discretion. 

Meanwhile, public and private universities and colleges will adjust the schedule of classes or exams initially slated for May 15th and 16th. Normal operations will resume on May 19. 

Schools and universities conducting international exams are exempt from these changes if rescheduling is not feasible.
