Khalifa University tops UAE in sustainability rankings

The university also came among top 40 in Asia out of 1,400 institutions in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2024 

Abu Dhabi, Dec 20, 2023: Khalifa University of Science and Technology has been ranked top in the UAE, and among top 40 in Asia out of nearly 1,400 institutions, in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2024. 

The university also came among the top 200 in Environmental Impact in the 2024 QS World University Rankings: Sustainability that highlights different ways in which universities are taking action to tackle the world’s greatest Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues.  

The University of Beirut topped the Middle East region while the University of Toronto was named as the world’s most sustainable university, followed by the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Manchester in second and third places, respectively.  

The QS Sustainability Rankings analyses Environmental Education, Research, Sustainability, Employability and Outcomes, Equality, Knowledge Exchange, Social Impact of Education, as well as Health and Well-being not only of its students but society more widely.  

In order to be included for the second QS Sustainability ranking, institutions must be eligible for QS World University Rankings, QS Rankings by Region or QS Rankings by Subject.
