UAE extends online classes for two days

The decision has been made to ensure preparedness of all schools in terms of safety

Dubai, Apr 17, 2024: Private and public schools in the UAE will remain closed for two more days on April 18 and 19 due to heavy rains. Earlier all schools were instructed to adopt remote learning on April 16 and 17 due to unstable weather conditions.

All Dubai private schools, nurseries and universities will continue to conduct online classes for two more days – April 18 and 19 – announced Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KDHA).

The decision is in line with the Emirates School Education Foundation’s decision to implement the same directive across all government schools across the country.

The measure ensures safety and security readiness for government schools and surrounding areas before students and staff resume regular in-person classes.

Meanwhile, Sharjah has also extended distance learning for private schools until April 18.
