Sharjah ruler emphasises on teacher role in promoting Arabic in schools

Dubai, June 26, 2022: Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah,  called upon teachers to impart  a love for Arabic among students, while emphasising their role in promoting the language. He was speaking at  the launch of the second edition of the ‘Teaching Honour’ programme at the First International Forum for Arabic Teachers organised by the Sharjah Education Academy.

He addressed a message to teachers, saying, “Our sons and daughters are in… your hands, so… teach them the love of the Arabic language,” asking them to develop teaching methods for Arabic that can be endearing to students as they are young and have no knowledge.

He said efforts should be made to safeguard Arabic. “The Arabic language is a stockpile of our history, our knowledge and our culture,” he added.

A number of officials and education experts attended the opening ceremony including Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education; Dr. Saeed Mousabeh Al Kaabi, Chairman of Sharjah Educational Council; and Dr. Khawla Abdulrahman Al Mulla, Chairperson of the Family Affairs Authority in Sharjah, among others.
