Kuwait City, Feb 11, 2025: The Kuwait Ministry of Education has announced the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a topic in the second part of the computer development textbook for Grade 10 students.
Mona Salem Awad, General Technical Supervisor of Computers says that the initiative aims to equip Grade 10 secondary students with the knowledge and tools needed to understand AI.
Awad emphasises that incorporating AI into the computer curriculum is essential for keeping pace with rapid technological advancements and meeting students’ needs to understand its fundamentals and applications. She says the initiative not only prepares students for the labour market, increasingly driven by technology, but also enhances their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Importantly, Awad underscores the importance of encouraging students to innovate and develop new solutions to challenges, highlighting the Ministry of Education’s commitment to building a generation equipped to navigate and tackle future challenges effectively.
Awad says the Ministry aims to create an interactive learning environment that integrates modern technology across all educational levels. She emphasises that incorporating AI into the curriculum is part of a broader strategy to enhance education and strengthen students’ skills for the future.
