Industry leaders discuss best practices in facilities management even as the ‘always clean and sanitised’ approach and an increase in frequent touchpoints have led to additional manpower allocation, increased involvement of professional companies and a cost increase

On the heels of the pandemic, the approach to facilities management across schools and colleges has undergone drastic changes. The most prominent trend has been the growing awareness and increased focus on hygiene and services. 

Schools across the GCC, especially in the UAE, reopened for in-person learning much ahead of their counterparts in the rest of the world. While they had to strictly comply with the new government regulations and COVID-19 guidelines, they had to also ensure that situations, where thousands of students and faculty come together and interact everyday, do not result in cross-contamination.
