Dubai, Sept 21, 2026: The Liveability and Investment Exhibition (LIVEX 2026) in Abu Dhabi is expected to attract more than 20,000 policymakers, institutional investors, urban planners, developers and industry experts from more than 50 countries, joining government leaders, businesses, innovators and the public to explore the policies, projects and partnerships shaping Abu Dhabi’s future.  

LIVEX is Abu Dhabi’s flagship global platform, showcasing the emirate as one of the world’s most liveable and lovable cities, and one of the most attractive destinations for investment, innovation and long-term growth. LIVEX is built  around the proposition that the cities that serve their people best will win everything else.  

One of the highlights of the exhibition for the education sector is a conference session titled ‘The city that learns: Education as the foundation of liveability.’ The session explores education as essential urban infrastructure and what cities can unlock when schools, learning and skills are designed into the fabric of communities rather than treated as services around them. 

The speakers for the session include Mohamed Al Qadi, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK); Pasi Sahlberg, Finnish educator, author, global advocate for education and recipient of Grawemeyer Award and LEGO Prize; Prof Elizabeth Churchill, Professor of Human-Computer Interaction, Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence; and Fabio Piano, Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of NYU Abu Dhabi. 

The inaugural edition of LIVEX arrives at a moment of global shift in urban development, from investment-led growth to growth driven by quality of life. Organised by the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), LIVEX brings together liveability, infrastructure and investment on a single specialised platform, reflecting the growing importance of quality of life in shaping investment decisions and directing long-term capital.  

With liveability at its core, LIVEX highlights the emirate’s strengths across urban development, culture, education, economy, energy and healthcare; a development model founded on quality of life, long-term planning and sustained confidence, which has established Abu Dhabi as one of the most liveable cities in the Middle East and Africa and one of the world’s leading destinations for international capital.  

LIVEX 2026 takes place from September 29 to October 1, 2026, at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi.
