GESS Dubai 2024 to focus on EdTech, gaming in education

The 17th edition of Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) Dubai to focus on technology adoption at schools across the GCC even as it adds a new showcase space for gaming in education 

September 5, 2024, DubaiThe impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality on education in the region along with the extent and progress of its implementation across schools will be the key focus of the 2024 edition of Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) Dubai.  

Organised by Informa Connect, GESS Dubai returns from November 12 to 14, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Sheikh Saeed Halls 1 to 3.   

For the first time at GESS, a dedicated area will be allotted to showcase gaming in education, designed to inspire educators to explore, learn and discover how gaming can enhance student engagement, create opportunities and foster growth. 

Suppliers in gamification, game-based learning, esports and game design are expected to showcase their strengths and technological advancements in the development of various programmes to promote interactive and immersive learning.  

Featured at the venue will be demos, panel discussions and student-led game tournaments.  

 The main focus  of this year’s GESS will be the rapid adoption of EdTech, particularly augmented reality (AR) and AI technologies, as international schools in the GCC region increasingly allocate their budgets towards these innovative solutions.   

With the GCC EdTech market projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.12% from 2024 to 2030, governments across the region are emphasising education and technology as central pillars in their economic transformation and national development strategies.  

According to the organiser, about 8,000 educational professionals from around the globe, including key decision-makers and buyers from 74 countries are expected to participate in this year’s event,   

 The event will also feature free-to-attend CPD accredited conference programmes, seminars and panel discussions. The talks and workshops will be divided into various zones such as the GESS Talks Stage, featuring speakers and guests from GESS podcasts and webinars; a principals and members only Leaders in Education Conference; Sustainability and Wellbeing Hub to discuss the integration of sustainability into curricula and  address students’ concerns about climate change; Product Showcase and a separate Workshop Space to discuss various issues related to teaching and curriculum.   

GESS Awards for suppliers and/or distributors and for teachers, schools and educational professionals will be held on November 13, 2024.
