Schools across the GCC are laying special emphasis on student well-being and enhancement of life skills even as governments and regulatory bodies across the region have made education one of the key priorities for national development.
In January Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, set out the UAE’s five key priorities for the new year at the first Cabinet meeting of 2023. Developing the education sector remained one of the five key priorities along with the development of a vision, key indicators and outputs.
As the country marches towards its target to achieve excellence in all key indicators of economic development and stay ahead of the curve in its race towards Industry 4.0 standards, it has laid the groundwork and framed necessary regulations for academic institutions to follow, and one of the key criteria is an emphasis on well–being of students.
