Bahrain and Qatar shift to remote learning starting March 1

Students across schools in Qatar and Bahrain transition to distance learning starting today

The Ministries of Education announce that this is a precautionary measure

Dubai, Mar 1, 2026: The Ministries of Education in Qatar and Bahrain have announced a transition to distance learning starting Sunday, March 1, 2026, in light of regional developments to ensure the continuity of the educational process.

In Qatar, the decision applies to kindergartens, public and private schools, educational centres, and universities. This is a precautionary and organisational measure until further notice, the Ministry stressed.

Bahrain took a similar measure earlier on Saturday, saying that early education institutions, public and private schools, and higher education institutions in the kingdom will shift to distance learning and will remain in place until further notice.

The Bahrain ministry advised educational institutions to contact its Communications and Educational Attachés Department for technical or operational support in transitioning to remote learning.

The Ministry of Education stressed that updates regarding educational operations will be shared only through official channels and urged the public to rely solely on verified sources for information.

The school week in Bahrain runs from Sunday to Thursday.
