The spring break will now run from March 9-22, 2026, while it was originally scheduled from March 16-27, 2026
Dubai, Mar 4, 2026: The UAE’s Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced an early spring break for all schools and universities.
Authorities confirmed that spring break will now run from March 9, 2026 to March 22, 2026. The decision applies to all government and private schools, as well as universities, covering students, teaching staff and administrative personnel.
The 2025–2026 academic calendar had set the last day of class for some schools on March 13, 2026, with holidays from March 16 – 27, 2026, and classes starting again on March 30, 2026. However, the authorities have now decided to start the spring holidays early due to the current regional conflict. Indian schools across the country are awaiting clarity from their respective education authorities.
Earlier, the UAE extended distance learning until March 6, 2026, as authorities continued to monitor the regional security situation. Classes had initially shifted online from March 2-4, 2026 after the first day of the conflict, following an announcement on February 28, 2026. KHDA also issued a statement, echoing the federal ministries’ decision, ensuring consistency across the emirate.
The authorities have urged students, parents and staff to stay informed through official channels and emphasised that the measures are intended to prioritise the safety of the students and the education fraternity.
