UAE schools to adopt new style of exams for key subjects

School exams will use both paper and electronic testing 

Dubai, Feb 27, 2023: The Emirates School Establishment (ESE) has announced that school exams will use both paper and electronic testing for students between Grade 3 and Grade 12.  

UAE schools will trial the use of digital technology for exams. The trials will start from February 27 and go on till March 3. The subjects adopting the electronic online system for exams in the UAE include Arabic, English, Math, Physics and Science. 

This decision aims to improve the quality of educational outputs and enhance students’ creative and academic skills, says the ESE. 

As part of as part of curriculum testing, students between Grade 3 and Grade 12 will be asked to answer a series of multiple-choice questions in the electronic exams. 

The aim of the decision to adopt online and electronic testing is part of the ESE’s plan to improve the quality of educational output and provide all necessary support to students in preparing for their careers.
