The symposium, under the theme ‘Developing a Fertile Ecosystem for Al through Records, Data, and Information’, was organised by the university’s History Department in collaboration with InterPARES Trust AI.

InterPARES Trust AI is a multi-national interdisciplinary project aimed to design, develop and leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support the ongoing availability and accessibility of trustworthy public records by forming a sustainable, ongoing partnership producing original research, training students and other highly qualified personnel, and generating a virtuous circle between academia, archival institutions, government records professionals and industry, a feedback loop reinforcing the knowledge and capabilities of each party.

The aim was to promote the attainment of the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, to establish synergies among different players in promoting the application of emerging technologies in managing information, and to create a platform for global debates on the challenges and opportunities of AI in information management.

The symposium brought together global experts and professionals from diverse backgrounds, including archival institutions, government records professionals and industry. The participants discussed the challenges and opportunities of AI in information management and explored ways to create synergies between different players in promoting the application of emerging technologies.
