New medical college set to open at Abdullah Al-Salem University in 2026

Kuwait Ministry of Health and Abdullah Al-Salem University sign an agreement to establish medical college 

Kuwait, Jan 22, 2025: Abdullah Al-Salem University and the Kuwait Ministry of Health signed an agreement to establish a new College of Medicine and Health Sciences for the 2026-27 academic year.  

In a statement to the press following the agreement signing on Wednesday, Kuwait Minister of Health Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi described the college as a pioneering step to strengthen academic and scientific fields in Kuwait, emphasising integration between health and education sectors through shared resources and expertise.  

Kuwait Minister of Higher Education Dr Nader Al-Jallal highlighted the agreement’s role in advancing the country’s development goals and reaffirmed the ministry’s support for the university. 

Dr Moudhi Al-Humoud, Chairwoman of the University’s Founding Council considered the agreement a vital move to improve medical services, support research, and align with the national vision. She reaffirmed the university’s commitment to establishing the college as planned for the 2026-27 academic year, focusing on human resource development, particularly among youth.
