Schools in Saudi closed due to heavy rain forecast

Online classes to be conducted across schools in Jeddah, Madinah, Rabigh and Khulai 

Riyadh, Apr 29, 2024: Schools in various parts of Saudi Arabia switched to online classes on April 29 (Monday) due to warnings of heavy rainfall and potential floods in the upcoming days. The Ministry of Education declared suspension of in-person classes across all schools in Jeddah, Madinah, Rabigh and Khulais, with classes to be conducted remotely through the Madrasati platform. 

The National Centre for Meteorology forecast rainfall between 10mm and 50mm throughout the week, and has issued weather alerts for several parts of the country.
