Classrooms across Qatar come back to life as nearly 417,000 students return to in-person learning
Doha, Mar 30, 2026: Classrooms across Qatar have resumed in-person learning after weeks of online classes and festive holidays.
Necessary arrangements and safety mechanisms are in place for more than 417,000 students and educators of both public and private institutions across the country.
The return to classrooms follows elaborate arrangements by various ministerial departments, in co-ordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE).
Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi, Director of the Public Relations and Communication Department says the preparations reflect the coordinated efforts of multiple ministry departments and ongoing collaboration with national authorities. “Our goal is to strengthen confidence within the school community and provide the right conditions for students to return smoothly,” she adds.
The move also reflects a broader national effort to reinforce educational resilience while supporting students’ academic progress and well-being.
Enhanced safety protocols, organised transportation arrangements and coordinated supervision, have been ensured to underscore the readiness of both public and private institutions to resume regular academic operations.
Authorities have also put in place monitoring mechanisms to ensure sustained readiness and rapid response to any developments.
Meanwhile, King’s College Doha, which started in-campus learning, says the return was carefully planned, with structured routines and enhanced pastoral support designed to help students settle back into school life with confidence.
Kate Jackson, Principal of King’s College Doha, says, “Student safety and well-being remain our highest priority, and we are committed to providing a calm, supportive environment where every student feels secure, confident and ready to learn. We look forward to a positive and successful term ahead.”
The ministry highlighted the role of parents as key partners in maintaining a safe educational environment and urged families to reinforce safety instructions, ensure punctual attendance, and encourage students to adhere to school guidelines.
