Aimed at inspiring the next generation of innovators, the competition is open to students aged 6-18
Riyadh, Feb 12, 2026: STEMATHLON 2026 Saudi Arabia, a national-level STEM contest themed ‘From Human to Artificial Intelligence’, will bring together students, educators, industry leaders and policymakers to celebrate innovation, scientific thinking and experiential learning. The event takes place at the Science Oasis International School, Riyadh, on February 13 & 14, 2026.
Organised by STEM Education and managed by IBEForuM, STEMATHLON 2026 is designed to move beyond rote learning by encouraging students to apply scientific principles, engineering design and emerging technologies to real-world challenges. The contest focuses on human needs such as Food, Energy, Communication, Art and Culture, guiding participants from basic mechanical concepts to automation, IoT and artificial intelligence-driven solutions.
The competition is open to students aged 6-18, from Early Elementary through Middle and High School, with age-appropriate categories that introduce concepts such as simple machines, energy mechanisms, automation, sensor-based systems and data-driven AI applications. Participants work in teams, enhancing skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, critical thinking and perseverance.
Students participating in STEMATHLON Saudi Arabia will also have the opportunity to qualify for the International STEMATHLON Finals, scheduled to take place in Athens, Greece.
Beyond the contest, STEMATHLON supports educators through free training resources, workshops and a bilingual digital portal, offering structured STEM learning materials, robotics content and automation-focused courses.
STEMATHLON 2026 is expected to attract student delegates, STEM teachers, university faculty, education leaders, technology companies, government bodies and non-profit organisations.
