The Digital School signs MoU with mEducation to further e-learning among the underprivileged

  • The agreement enables development of technology enabled e-learning solutions and to reach one million students in five years

Dubai, August 4, 2021: The Digital School, Dubai’s latest initiative for flexible distance learning in Arabic to students around the world, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mobiles for Education (mEducation) Alliance a global non-profit organization focused on evidence-driven and sustainable role of technology in education to advance quality educational outcomes.

The agreement enables both, The Digital School and mEducation to develop innovative e-learning solutions and to exchange expertise to strengthen learning for students in unattended communities.

The Digital School which provides integrated, multi-platform and accredited Arabic school education online has set itself a goal to reach one million students worldwide in five years and hopes to achieve this goal through collaborating with global players like mEducation.

The Digital School will join hands with mEducation Alliance’s efforts and will collaborate with agencies, organisations and donors in an effort to integrate advanced technology in education and to organise e-learning competitions and activities.

“Partnerships with prestigious institutions support the Digital School’s goals to reach as many students as possible and develop an innovative digital educational system based on world-class curricula.” – said Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, UAE’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Teleworking Applications.

As a comprehensive Arab platform, the Digital School’s priorities are to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all and to achieve UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, added Al Olama.

“To advance the Digital School initiative, the mEducation Alliance offers its advisory services in education technology as well as a range of convening and communication products and linkages with several of the catalytic initiatives we are advancing globally. Through these channels, we will jointly analyse the impact, identify collaborators, publish good practices, and generally elevate awareness of promising education technology opportunities to help learners within formal and non formal educational settings”, said Anthony Bloome, Executive Director and Founder of the mEducation Alliance.

Through the MoU, both parties will together conduct best educational practices in overlooked communities in refugee camps and remote areas, in order to support and fund initiatives in the digital learning sector.

The Digital School was launched in Nov, 2020, by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, a UAE-based foundation that combines wide-ranging humanitarian, social, development and empowerment entities and programmes. The School aims to improve access to education in the region and the world through trained experts and high-tech digital platforms.
