Eligibility criteria include individuals aged 18 years and older who are either a spouse, spouse’s relative or a legal guardian

Jeddah, Jul 31, 2024: Expatriates living in Saudi Arabia on their spouse’s visa can now choose to work in the country’s education sector without transferring their visas.

Those expatriates above 18 years holding a valid visa and being either the spouse, spouse’s relative, or legal guardian can register their interest by logging onto the Ajeer platform, according to a report by Saudi Gazette

Quoting Okaz newspaper, an Arabic daily published from Jeddah, the Saudi Gazette report says the new initiative by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia aims to regulate the work of dependents without the need to transfer their sponsorship.

The new rule will be applicable to those seeking employment in the health and education sectors. The report also points out that only those establishments registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, maintaining an active commercial registration with no restrictions imposed on it, and not being categorised under the red band in the Nitaqat system can recruit applicants holding dependent visas.
