HRE Development says its contribution to Dubai Cares mission is to promote access to education among underprivileged children and youth in developing countries
Dubai, Oct 22, 2024: A Dubai-based property developer has donated Dhs30 million to Dubai Cares to support the education of children and youth in developing countries.
The financial contribution is aimed to ensure that underprivileged children and youth in developing countries gain access to quality education.
“At HRE Development, we recognise that education is a key enabler in shaping a better future,” says Mohamed Adib Hijazi, Chairman, HRE Development. He was addressing the media at a press conference in Dubai, where he made the announcement.
The contribution is linked to HRE’s new real estate project, Skyhills Astra, and will be made on behalf of each apartment owner in the development.
Dubai Cares, which is part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), has been working towards providing children and youth in developing countries with access to quality education through the design and funding of programmes that aim to be impactful, sustainable and scalable.
“Collaboration with the private sector amplifies our efforts to address educational disparities and strengthens our mission by providing additional resources and fostering innovation,” says Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer and Vice-Chairman of Dubai Cares.
“This partnership will significantly enhance our impact and allow us to reach even more children and youth globally,” he adds.
To date, the UAE-based global philanthropic organisation has successfully launched education programmes reaching more than 24 million beneficiaries in 60 developing countries.
As a gesture of recognition, Skyhills Astra apartment owners will receive a personalised certificate from Dubai Cares, acknowledging their role in advancing global education.
As part of its its philanthropic efforts, the organisation had earlier dedicated 10 residential units of its Skyhills Residence to the Endowments and Minors’ Affairs Trust Foundation in Dubai (Awqaf Dubai), represented by the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC).
According to the developer, the collaboration with Dubai Cares also aligns with the UAE’s broader vision, inspired by the belief of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in education and innovation as essential drivers of progress.
