UAE schools to switch to distance learning due to unstable weather

Classes to be conducted online on May 2 and 3 

Dubai, May 1, 2024: The UAE has issued a warning for heavy rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday. In response, authorities have announced all government and private schools to implement distance learning on May 2 and 3 aiming to safeguard both staff and students at educational institutions. 

Distance learning is mandated in several emirates. In Abu Dhabi all schools will switch to distance learning on May 2 and 3, while the KHDA has instructed private schools to conduct online classes on May 2 and 3 in Dubai. 

Sharjah has also announced distance learning for all schools on May 2 and 3. 

In Ajman private schools will conduct remote classes on May 2 and 3 while in Ras Al Khaimah the local emergency team has directed government schools to switch to distance learning on May 2 and 3.
