UAE launches remote learning project with global universities

Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education, UAE
The project aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain additional skills and knowledge through micro credentials

Dubai, March 16, 2023: The Ministry of Education in the UAE has launched a new initiative that will allow students enrolled in universities within the country to take online courses offered by international institutions.

The project, which was announced by the Minister of Education Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi at a ‘Remote’ forum, aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain additional skills and knowledge through micro credentials that are not part of their university curriculum.

Under the programme, students can enroll in a UAE university and choose to take an online course offered by an accredited institution, receiving credit for it towards their degree.

This initiative is part of the nation’s pragmatic agenda for remote work, remote education and remote healthcare, and will provide students with greater flexibility in their learning journeys.
