Saudi Arabia to integrate economics into school curriculum

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economy and Planning to align education with workforce needs 

Riyadh, Mar 11, 2024: Saudi Arabia is going to add economics to the school curriculum. The Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan and Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Al-Ibrahim have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The aim is to introduce students to the importance of economics and public policy specialisations to meet the job market requirements. 

The MoU also aims to attract scholarship students and graduates in accordance with the directions of the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
